Swatch Bharat Abhiyan- convert present old vehicles to electric /non pollution free tech - needed.
The success of swatch Bharat Abhiyan is really mind blowing .May not be 100% successful but it has sowed the seed in Indian society We are already reaping the results partly .
But inaddition one thought to eradicate completely the fossil fuel powered vehicles in the next ten years which needs a huge investment in costs for projects ,and junking or decommissioning of lakhs of old vehicles if ban is brought on 15 yr old / two stroke two or three wheelers,if the automotive industry can think of ( by R&D)refitment of current good bodies of vehicles it will save a lot of problems to citizens , government and saves investments.
To put to use the existing good vehicle bodies in to use by refitment by modification is a idea to think about .
Of course the automotive engineers must certify that this will satisfy the technical safety standards of industry and its roadworthiness.
It is only a suggestion .
In the long run these can be phased out after five years .The new breed of safe electrical vehicles can be ushered in after the intervening period. more

Developments in any period of time must undergo changes for evolving. And evolution rings the bell for future developments which should be welcomed. e-vehicles may be the runner in the future. Users may have to take into account the slow speeds and longer times to reach destinations. Infrastructures for re-charge every few km would need setting up. A totally new industry, actually. This won't happen overnight. So, no need to panic and start disposing off our diesel/petrol/gas vehicles. BUT, would that really bring air pollution under control..? You wait and see............... more

I have set up a startup venture for conversion of diesel buses to electric. Currently in the process of raising finance for developing one prototype which will then get approval from ARAI. I am interested if any company can provide funding under CSR. I need Rs 1 Cr. more

It is a good idea if present old vehicles can be converted to electric /non pollution free. The technology improvement is needed. more
