TASMAC Turns a New Leaf: Receipts to Be Issued Starting December

TASMAC, the government-owned liquor monopoly of Tamil Nadu, is set to introduce a new customer-friendly policy. Starting December, TASMAC outlets will issue receipts for purchases, putting an end to overcharging practices that have frustrated customers statewide. Currently, TASMAC staff are undergoing training in billing to implement this change smoothly.

For years, printed MRP prices on bottles were often disregarded, with customers being charged extra amounts of ₹5, ₹10, ₹20, or even ₹40, depending on bottle size.

This move toward transparency aligns TASMAC with fair business practices, setting a positive example for citizens and other traders across Tamil Nadu. more

Wow! I am surprised at the mindset of people on current TN government! What is the guarantee that the shop will not ask for Rs. 5 or 10 extra even after giving receipt? more
The Government department was not practicing fairly, charging heavily its customers showing the inability of the government to control its own workers. Now there is a claim billing will help to reduce bribing. It's insane to believe that this will be a panacea for such activities by the Government employees and governments. Good there is a punishment to the erring people not only here but in all departments. Good to close this department and government starts only policing than selling unwanted goods for people. more
TASMAC itself is one UNFAIR GOVERNMENT OWNED BUSINESS, SPOILING TAMIL citizens. Then where is the "fair business" practice? more
