Tata Skys faulty boxes

Tata Sky makes and supplies fault set top boxes. I have had the third one changed in 5 years and every time they charge you for it. So whats the incentive they have to make better boxes, they then wont be able to profit on the box.

I urge consumer affairs ministry to evaluate this for class action against tata sky now that the new act has been notified.

How can this be taken up? more

I too had used Tata sky for about a year but changed to Dish TV due to poor services and since last 10 years using the same. more
I had used first set top box for about 15 years and I am now using HD version for last 4 years without any problem. You need to take proper care of Set top box. Keep your box in a safe clean place and power it through a stable power supply. Check that power supply socket has been wired properly and plug fits in snogly. This box should last you a life time. more
In a given case the same Service Provider was UNABLE TO CONNECT Services for 4 Consecutive days to HOSPITAL at THANE, MAHARASHTRA. Even after forth day the Authorized representative was Unable to give the Contact details of Higher Authorities except stating Technician will be deputed shortly. Surprising to NOTE that even after 100% advance payments were made for long term contract the reputed Organisation was/is unable to provide Minimum Services BUT to get EASY MONEY. more
Set top box is one of the items under compulsory registration scheme (CRS) of BIS. There should be Registration number on the box, if it is a tested product. If you do not find that number, BIS should be informed about it. Even otherwise your set top box is a substandard product. Therefore, BIS must pick up this product from market and get it tested to confirm its authenticity . more
