Tatkal and Premium Tatkal

Dear Shikha Jain
Please refer to you query on the subject matter for both tkts the opening is 24 hours before the train departs and once you book your tkts you have to travel , there are no refund under any category and any circumstances.

The tatkal fare slabs are simply/static and displayed on the railways website, whereas the premium tatkal Category is complex algorithms as per the no of seats/slabs availability after the Fifty Percent of the normal Tatkal is consumed . After booking of the first 50% of tatkal tickets under tatkal quota, the subsequent 50% tatkal tickets will be sold on dynamic pricing. The fare shall increase by 20% after each slab of 10% berths are sold subject to the existing cap (maximum fare chargeable) on dynamic fare. As such the scheme is implemented in following 5 trains of Central Railway with effect from 3.10.2014. I am giving below an illustration of the Premium Tatkal Booking Fares on Rajdhani Train Numbered 12951 from Mumbai to New Delhi for 24-10-2014 the log in time was around 20.30.

Thanks for the detailed info. It's cheaper to travel by flight than by premium Tatkal. more
I am not sure if Premium train tickets could only be booked 24hours before the train departs. What I found on IRCTC website is below. https://www.services.irctc.co.in/betaDoc/Salient%20Features%20of%20Premium%20Special%20Train%20on%20Dynamic%20Pricing.pdf more
Railways are still the poorman's and the lower and upper middle class man's mode of travel-First come first served is the best option for Natural Justice.Allowing the last come to get the ticket because of having a big purse, will lead to public anger and outrage, and reflect badly upon the new govt more
