Tatkal Ticket Booking a real pain for a commen man
The tatkal seem to be a nexus as the moment the booking is opened it is filled in no time. I have been trying to get the ticket in Duranto Express from HWH to NAGPUR from last 03 days from my IRCTC login and at the time of opening the availability is shown as 240 but in just 02 mins or by the time the Form is filled and payment is made the status goes to Waitlist . On top of it the payment is deducted from the bank and finally I ended up losing the money in the form of Clerkage charges. This is really illogical of the availability is not there why clerkage charges.

I also vouch for that there should be no Tatkal scheme and it should be converted to current reservation facility 3-4 hrs before journey so that only those passengers who really want to travel should be able to avail the facility. more

@ Milind- It is the SME experience for every one who books under tatkal. Many scams have surfaced in Tatkal booking. Software is available at about 6K to 25K per month which books tickets in seconds bypassing all the procedures in tatkal. One way to improve the scheme is as suggested by Rajesh Kumar Sinha to scrap tatkal and introduce current booking. My input is introduce that along with current booking for e tickets with id. Also can be thought that the current booking be available for e tickets with id only. more

Tatkaaal scheme must be removed and instead,current reservation system should be reintroduced ,after chart preparation.Reservation be accorded on production of ID proof,to one of the travelling passengers and not to any agent.Separate counter for elders and ladies travelling alone. more
