Tatkal ticket booking at railway ticket counters

Till today Tatkal ticket booking at Railway ticket counters is horrible. In Kerala common use to stand or sit in que one day prior to tatkal booking date and stay there whole day and night so that on the next day they can get their tickets comfortably. If we do they same thing in Bhopal, mob of ticket agents come in the morning or nights and threaten the common people or pick him up and through outside. Keeping an RPF station near to it is also of no use. Some mob of agents come in night with valid ID proof and reservation forms, stay whole night & in the next day morning original persons comes, get replaced with Rs.100/- to Rs.500/- and leave. Should find some stringent solution to it and take action immediately. more

Tatkal ticket booking has now-a-days has become a source of minting money by the Railways employees and the agents. more
I have no comment in this regard. Dr Biswas. On 19 May 2016 15:04, "Rajesh Pillai" wrote: > more
Tatkal tkts.....these are cornered by touts /agents/bkg staff. It is better to END this scheme. but the rlys get good revenue from this. Instead of increasing tkt cost, they hv added other costs and thus effectively increased fares. This is deception by the State/ Rly Dept.Even on cancellation they make a pile of money. I suggest that instead of Tatkal, all tkts shd be up for normal reservation. A portion of tklts will be up for sale only 7 days in advance of journey date. Now only conf and RAC tkts are possible. A WL of abt max 100 shd be made and then adjusted against cancellations. The WL pass not successful will be refunded in full. Otherwise, the tkt collectors will make money at abt 500 per tkt. WL pass may be allowed to travel if they say specifically. This way any unrecorded cancellation can be used in a disciplined manner. There is no point in advising and wishing that the agents/bkg staff nexus would be clipped. Ramu Mumbai dt 1/6/16 more
We are responsible for our own misery and problem, we over a period of time have made it a practice to resort to short cuts, whether it is on roads or otherwise and encouraged agents and corruption. We have to react to these situations seriously and with determination other wise, even PM may not be able to help us. Strong resentments to such illegal activities with the help of like minded people should be initiated. Surely the local administration will be forced to support the cause. more
i thik this should be brought directly to the notice of th PM/ railway minister for immediate redressal more
