Tatkal Ticket Charges for Senior Citizens
At present,for Tatkal Tickets,full Fare plus Tatkal Charges are being levied from Senior Citizens which leads them to a much greater additional financial burden as compared to their counterparts since the latter pay only additional Tatkal Charges extra on their normal full fare ticket while in comparison the Senior Citizens are required to pay the difference between the full fare with Tatkal Charges and the Normal Senior Citizen Concessional Fare whereby making a Tatkal Ticket fare almost double or even more for senior citizens with respect to their normal concessional fare.To place an even additional financial burden of Tatkal charges on all categories,would it not be fair to allow Tatkal Ticket facility to all Senior Citizens by paying Tatkal charges on their Senior Citizen Concessional fares and not on the normal full fare as is being done now,in keeping with the spirit behind providing the concession to Senior Citizens in the first place. more

I agree to the view expressed. I would also add here, that tatkal is a facility and it should be charged as facility on fixed sums rather than percentage of fare. Afterall fair fare i.e. transportation charges are already paid for in regular fare. Moreover all tatkal passengers may not be rich fellows, so looking for cross subsidy from such persons ( Nobody except govt officials now look for EQ) is unfair. more
