Tax BCCI

Govt will establish fresh regulations and ways to impose additional tax on existing taxpayers but won't amend laws to include BCCI in the tax bracket, one of the World's richest sports body that generates many thousands of crores each year, yet pay no taxes. BCCI earns more than GDP of many Indian states but pays no taxes.

The Appelate Tribunal in Mumbai decided in favor of BCCI in 2021 as 'not liable to pay tax' since they are promoting CRICKET in the country. This is laughable and very erroneous on the face of it. This is purely a commercial activity involving thousands of crores. BCCI MUST PAY TAXES. FINANCE MINISTRY AT THE CENTRE MUST STEP-IN SUITABLY TO ENSURE THAT TAXES ARE PAID BY THE BODY AND RECOVER ARREARS TOO. more  
BCCI is not a charitable trust. What charity it does? BCCI needs to be included in the income tax bracket. more  
BCCI are having and àdding a lot of surpluses every year. Govt should find out what they're spending on sport promotion though affiliated Associations.and what they are spending on IPL. IPL is big business. Tickets, sponsorships, emoluments to players, staff etc. Everything is extraordinarily higher.. Absolutely no reason to give any concessions in taxes. Infact I feel there is lot of wastage of foreign exchange. Each team brings in many foreign associates who are not necessary. Companies spend high amounts on advertisements, sponsorships. TV channels are more interested in showing advertisements than on field activies. Every TV advertisement should be charged 10% cess towards sacrified army men's families and funds to help Farmers. more  
We need football more than the cricket. As such BCCI should be taxed @tobacco as perhaps it does more harm than any other sporting events. But none will bring any laws as Political Masters are in the helm. more  
Income of BCCI must be taxed with immediate effect if not retrospective. BCCI is not a charitable institution but run as a business enterprise. So tax laws to be amended forthwith. more
