I think the second point mentioned in your comments should be " No TDS on interest on Bank deposits". In caseof point no. 5 the comment should be "super senior citizens" and not senior citizens who are even today considered at the age as 60 and above. I agree Senior citizens of all class irrespective of the case whether they are Govt, employees or private traders, etc., more

For senior citizens the following are required for their sustenance. 1. There should no no tax on pension. 2. No interest on bank FDs. 3. Premium on health insurance presently going exponentially should be reduced. If increase is necessary it should be linear raise in same proportion as applicable for middle age persons. 4. Limit for 80 (D) should be raised. 5. Minimum age for senior citizens should be brought down to 70 years from 80 years. 6. Interest rate on fund accumulated for pension for senior citizens should be raised by 2%. 7. Minimum slab for income tax be raised to Rs 5 Lac. 8. For any investment by them by any company, the representative of the companies should complete all facilities at their homes. 9. KYC if any to be done should be done at their homes. 10. Few govt. hospitals should provide medical facilities on annual payments basis covered under sec 80 (D) of IT from their hospitals without condition of 24 hours hospitalization. The above should be applicable to those senior citizens who are not involved in any service/business. more
