tax on electricity

this issue has to be considered from the following angles:
1.whether the distributing cos are paying tax while purchasing electricity from the generating company.
2.are the distributing cos. enjoying any input credit
3.should the tax be removed or reduced for even affordable citizens beyond a certain income level(f.e mr mukesh ambani)
if the distributing cos. are paying tax for their purchase and if there is input credit, then the modification should be made both for purchase and sale, failing which there will be imbalance.
however if there is purchase tax and no input credit, then reduction/or waiver of tax should be done for consumers upto a certain income level/consumption level.in fact 3 stages can be adopted:
1.nil tax for consumption to a certain level.
2.minimum tax for consumption beyond first stage and upto certain level.
3.no change above level 2. more

Important questions. In any case, the electricity costs in Maharashtra must be reduced. It is almost impossible for households to pay such high bills more
This is not income tax, this is GST. I don't think there is a provision to discriminate between rich consumer and poor consumer because the billing is already based on consumer units and the slab it falls into. Second, whoever is proposing this I want them to help the distribution companies in stopping electricity theft and non-payers. If you can do that then the cost of electricity will go for all others. This is reality. more
Pertinent questions are raised. The matter should be given proper importance. more
Unit cost can be reduced manifold . Ample scope to reduce prices of Cooal, Transport, Land size etcc. more
I think - 1) Electricity Duty is not (Central Excise, Service Tax, GST, where duty credit of input goods, service, is allowed to be debited for the final goods, services provided) regular tax. 2) one has to study the said Electricity Duty and its provision . more
