Tax Terrorism Hotline
I would really like local circles start up india community to conduct a poll on whether ministry of commerce/finance should start a tax terrorism hotline for start ups where entrepreneurs who are being subjected to harrassment based on valuation, investment, etc can call and get immediate assistance.
None of the other aspects of start up india matter as much as this. Even petty bribes is less of an issue, all being relative.

It would be good for members to share stories they hear about this topic. It will help other startups learn from what is happening today in India and work out a joint strategy. more

Concern expressed by Shibani is very valid. It needs to be addressed to in a manner which will provide a 'Almost' immediate solution. However, petty bribing also SHOULD NOT be tolerated and allowed. It also needs to be reported. In both the cases, as the old method goes, proof need not be asked. Lifestyle of the person in question should be examined along with a candid enquiry with his / her colleagues and persons / cases dealt with by that person recently, should be examined for deciding whether the person has record of corruption / harassing the public. If proved guilty, the said person should immediately be sent home to find own way to survive. more

More policing only leads to more crime. Issues should be addressed at core through Imbibing basic human values. System and Transparency in operations. An example, making it mandatory to record every day progress, action, outcome. Preferably electronically so that changing it later is possible only in specific cases with concurrence from appreciate level. more

this will not make any difference. as per my experience of Gov officials, they will bother only when amounts involved are large. if you have a default of less than 40 - 50 thousand, your case will never be considered, and every body, including your CA, Gov officlals will suggest you either pay up or pay panelty or pay bribe and get away. Gov has very intelligent means to kill startups or small companies, for whom even amounts as small as inr 5000 matters. more
