TDR Refund for Cancellation - Key Issues

Below are some of the key issues as outlined by you in regards to TDR Refund for Ticket Cancellation. Kindly review and share any additional inputs you may have on this subject.

We look forward to understanding all the issues and then implementing solutions to address them.

TDR Refund - Key Issues

1. Many time the site just logs off the system when File TDR is selected
2. Site hangs while trying to file a TDR refund
3. There is no time limit for closing a TDR refund request
4. Some cases go on for years without the refund actually happening
5. TDR refund is many times declined due to non-justified reasons
6. Many TDR refunds never happen
7. In case TDR is filed for a PNR having two waitlisted tickets and one RAC ticket, only RAC passenger refund is obtained and wait listed passenger refund is not given
8. The rules and regulations around TDR filing are not very clear
9. The TDR filing time is two hrs after the departure of train, but if you do not have the internet connection in that two hours, your money is lost
10. Sometime when a TDR is filed, the reply comes saying that the passenger travelled. more

Dear sir, TDR refund has got its draw backs and advantages as it depends upon the server at that moment" I have a case to present, I had two pairs of tickets one was confirmed sleeper and the other was w/l 3A ticket . As the confirmation message never came I rushed to Agra can't railway station at 1530 hrs I perforce cancelled the sleeper ticket and retained 3A ticket for travel on 24 Apr. While the chart at Railway station clearly says Rs150/- per person the duty clerk intimated that there is a flaw in the board and computer deducted Rs 180/- per person. Now how the Railways is functioning one can see by the chart and practice. Thanking you for your advise, M. Lakshminath. 9989922422 Sent from my iPad. The Railway authorities should review the rule for the benefit of the passengers. more
for claiming TDR, the time of arrival of the train at the boarding station should be considered and not the starting station. Giving an example, I booked a ticket to Mumbai by a train starting in Vizag but boarding in Secunderabad. Since the ticket was WL, I found that ticket was available for an earlier day in current reservation and I booked. I was refused TDR as my ticket was confirmed by the previous train based on the starting station allotment. This discrepancy could be looked into. more
