Tea Scam in Railways
The tea supplied in the trains is supposed to be 150 ml, but the servers give us only 100 to 120 ml. They make the excuse that if they pour more than that the tea would spill, in a moving train, because the volume of the container is exactly 150 ml. This is a practical problem, and the authorities should be well aware of it. Despite this they do not do anything to increase the size of the container. This makes us suspect whether the concerned officials are tacitly supporting the vendors in deliberately giving less tea but charging the full amount. In fact the vendors charge more than what they should. I have the following suggestions:
1. The size of the container/cup should be 200 ml
2. The level of 150 ml should be clearly marked so that the passengers know how much they are being served.
3. The price of the tea should be printed in bold red letters on the outer side of the cup/container more

Regarding serving tea is highlighted earlier also. I do agree with the members suggestion and to Mr. Prabhakar Korada and his suggestion. I add other few points 1. Along with tea or coffee spilling, this vendors throw empty coffee sachet at floor. 2. Price of all items served e.g. FOOD,TEA, COFFEE, MINERAL WATER, BREAKFAST ITEMS etc. has to be displayed or shown to the passenger at demand by vendor. 3. The empty cups,packets etc. not to thrown on the floor outside. It is to collected and disposed at particular place by supplier. 4. It is responsibility of passenger also to maintain cleanliness while traveling. e.g not throwing eatables,water,coffee,empty packets, paper, fruits,pee nuts on floor and out side. They should keep in small carry bag and thrown in dustbin. Using minimum water in toilet and sink, lights fans. more

Mr. Sheth, all do not travel by shatabdi, which may be charging for 200 ml. and giving 150 or more. In second class sleepers the size of the cup is decreasing at a fast rate. Different trains have different sizes of cups. Sleeper class coach conductors be mde responsible to ensure catering is as per laid down norms. He should accept complaints from passengers and issue acknowledgement tokens, etc. to ensure follow up action by railways. more
