Tech-savvy Prime Minister Modi fails to inspire Delhi BJP - TOI

My Q to the new BJP Delhi President and his team - Why? Don't you see this circle and Transform India circle.??Why have you not connected the elected MPs to their constituencies (yes, i know we have not touched 1000 members in NW Delhi yet but you still should bring the MP) Also, by now you should have created assembly and ward communities and engaged with janta. With or without elections you need to be in middle of the public.....

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be pushing his Cabinet colleagues to use social media to connect with people, but his party men in Delhi seem to have lost interest in the medium. Delhi BJP's website and Facebook page have no updates about its recent activities.

The Facebook page has a poster of Narendra Modi and Harsh Vardhan with 'India 272+ towards majority' written on it as the lead picture. The last post was on June 9 announcing the party's membership drive.

The website also has no recent update and still carries a message issued by Harsh Vardhan when he was the Delhi BJP chief. It also has a link to Vardhan's personal website. But there is no mention of Delhi BJP's new president, Satish Upadhyay, who took charge last month.

The section on event, news and release doesn't even have the option to select the year 2014. Soon after taking charge, Upadhyay had launched several initiatives, such as 'Budget par Charcha' with RWAs, and directed party workers to connect with people, but none of it finds any mention on the website. He had also said he would ask all MLAs to use social networking sites to stay connected with people.

But Delhi BJP seems to be banking on just posters and hoardings while AAP, its principal opponent in Delhi, is aggressively using social media.

Upadhyay admitted that the party had not been able to fully use the medium to its advantage. "I agree we have not been able to update our website and Facebook page. The password for the Facebook account was with a particular leader. I have asked the Delhi unit to get the password and activate the page and update the website at the earliest," he said. more

I agree MPs can be in touch with people through social media. But need to be in touch with people personally, because all are not on social media yet. more
100% true....I m with u in case u want to take this issue forward... more
Yes i agreed about your idea because i had experienced that elected MP of my area uttamnagar which is the part of Parvesh verma newly elected young MP of BJP had deserted their constituencies on the kind of God. There are no initiatve being taken by the local bodies like road, sewer, mcd cleaning works etc. more
