Telcos and carteling may be

After Airtel and Vodafone, RelianceJio has hiked prepaid tariff by 20%. From December 1, the price entry-level plan will be 21% more expensive. The tariff of 11 other plans and four data packages will be hiked by 20%.

Isnt this carteling by industry players to take consumer for a ride, esp when the services are so bad. more

This was in the offing since long.First make the customer so used to all the freebies & than make it costly.Govt can't do a thing to ask the telcos to reduce the cost. This was bound to happen more
Any updates on BSNL rates & service standards please? Let's understand that no enterprise would survive without reasonable profits. The current price hike seems to be reasonable considering increasing overheads, year on year, and requirement of funds for upgradation of ageing Network/Equipments. Before jumping to any conclusions, shouldn't we compare today's prices with the prices prevailed before entry of JIO? more
Govt. will keep quite as Govt knows that for survival of Telcos, it is required to raise tariff. However, Local Circle may raise this issue with TRAI and concerned Govt. Authorities to give some relief to public. more
Telcos say that the telecom rates are lowest in India. They should have increased the tariffs gradually by improving the services proportionately. Signal/speed problems remains un-resolved even by PSUs. Regulators from any service are of no help. more
What Telecom Regulatory Authority is doing? Watching! Probably for elections hefty contributions are going to be made by these companies! more
