Terrible Budget

Once upon a time, PM and his Govt asked people to give up their LPG subsidy. 1.13 crore people, mostly middle class, gave up that subsidy voluntarily. It is not that middle class does not want to help India's growth story. It is not that they don't want India's poor to benefit. It is just that they want to know why can't they get some relief? What have they gotten after 10 years of patience?

And what relief do they want? They don't want the world from you. They just want to live honestly. Their children's school fee increases 10% every year. Their doctor's fees has doubled, even tripled, in last 10 years. Their house rent increases a minimum of 10% every year. Have their salaries increased in the same quantum? Heck, you have added insult to injury by increasing LTCG!

This is a demoralising budget without any imagination. It will percolate through all the sections of society. If you think rural Bharat will be with you, this negativity will affect them too.

I wonder if Modiji comes today and asks people to forego their subsidies voluntarily, would they? more

Totally agree.Subsidies surrendered, rail concessions taken away, being sr citizen and retired from a private school & getting such meager pension. My maid takes double than that.waiting for PM's health benefits irrespective of economic background.Or that too was an eyewash? more
Modiji will get the results in the coming election...this budget is for the capitalist and industrialist not for the general class...Modiji, kindly impose the tax on the remuneration and perks being paid to NETAs from the public fund...people will teach a lesson...just wait... more
No measures announced to curtail cost of governance and wasteful expenditure to spate sufficient funds for development. Instead focus is on maximizing revenue collection. No fund announced to control population which is greatest threat to India. This budget is below expectation. But at the same time there is no hope from INDI alliance. There will be atleast 15 prime ministers if this group comes to power as happened in UPA. more
It is a terrible budget. A budget for the corporates and for themselves. They should have abolished pension for themselves or attest havec 20 years as a parliamentarian to be eligible for pension like it's fir government employees. I doubt if these MPs pay any tax. more
All MLAs and MPs should be brought under NPS. They are huge salaries, perks for life and multiple pensions. If Mr Modi thinks about poor, why can't he abolish pension to all MPs. Cost cutting measures should be applied to all those who are being fed out of tax payers. more
