Most techies in Bangalore are pretty lonely. Away from family, no real friends, stuck in traffic, high rents, children not getting good values, peers into status games, cringe tech meet-ups, shoves body with coffee & alcohol, hair-loss, tummies popping out & pays highest taxes. more
Ashima: You get what you craved for life is full of compromises. This reminds me of some older NRI parents complaint about their children settled abroad and being near them. They forget that these are the same parents who sent them to US and other countries to study abroad and fora better career. How can they leave their career and return if they choose not to. They have a lot of life ahead of them. You can not have both ways. It is an individual’s choice. There are enough places and opportunities in Bangalore to engage yourself. You just have to explore choose the best for youand your family. I can speak about this. I chose to live in the US for 50 years. Now I am in Bangalore doing social service. I teach underprivileged children at home. I volunteer at the music museum IME in JP Nagar. more
Why so negative Ashima? They get paid well and have a good time as well. Taxes are something we need to come to terms with as long as the government uses the money well to fix Bangalore’s woes. We need help with water, traffic, garbage, illegal construction, bribery etc These things affect all of us and not just the techies more
yes truly said and that is the reason we see lot of techies once they reach the age above 45 they are burning out and lot of them are quitting theirjob since they are mentally fatigued with the life and want to recharge themselves .The negative aspect is india is losing the experience and knowledge they have gained with lot of other attributes.Very sorry plight of techies more
