THE CONCERNING NUMBERS RISING FROM JANUARY 2020 – 1,18,000 INFECTED – 4,200 DEATHS- 114 COUNTRIES:

IN INDIA 60 CASES INFECTED TODAY FROM A MERE 2 ON 29th FEBRUARY ; WITHIN 12 DAYS

The need of the hour is to arrest these numbers on war footing . That too under one command collecting data on a 24 hour basis . then sending one advisory , instructions to the entire nation . Of course in all the Indian languages . This should keep appearing at prime time in Television WITHOUT CELEBRITIES FEATURING , BUT WITH JUST MEDICAL PERSONNEL & Print Media.

Instead, we get information from the social media from various sources . If a competent uniform message is sent from one source like ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research ) , NCDC (National Center for Disease Control) or even from the MINISTRY OF HEALTH CO ORDINATING WITH THE AGENCIES .

The next is to increase the Virus testing centers from the present 52 in India . Just take the count of the Head Quarters of States and union Territories 28+9 , total districts in India 732 that administer services to a population of 1.3 Billion. Out of the 732 districts at least half of them should have testing laboratories .

As of now all cases detected has to be confirmed from NIV (National Institute of Virology ) the only premier one in India that has BSL-4 (Bio Safety Level ) . The work load is too much on them . India should have at least 10 to 12 well spread over . So that the waiting time for results and decisions can be reduced. CHINA HAS BSL-4 LABS IN EVERY DISTRICT .
Pandemic isn’t an uncommon word in world Health these days , with Globalization and Tourism. About 30 years back who would have expected a Disease Virus to come out of China and spread in 114 countries ? When we take stock of Virus Epidemic in the past ,

2003 - SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome)
2009 - H1N1 INFLUENZA Pandemic
2018 – NIPAH VIRUS
2019 – COVID -19

INIDA WILL NEED MORE TESTING LABS & B.S.L.- 4 LABS . more

I am in Chennai. When I make a telephone call first instructions come on the precautions to be taken to control Corono Virus only in English. This is India.Such instructions should be given in regional language.Dr.G.Rajagopal more
Public also must meticulously follow the instructions. Is it possible? A door to door campaign should be undertaken at all cities and villages and educate them about the availability of testing facilities. Even now one does not know what to do immediately when got fever, cold ..etc. more
most of these viruses are as a result of poor cleanliness and sanitation. In addition to sending out advisories, the government and civic agencies need to ensure that public places and spaces are clean (no liter, no garbage), no sewage or other water leakages, public toilets are sanitized and maintained, monitor the quality of food and surroundings of food site eateries (many people are dependent on them for their daily food) and shut them down if there is a cause of concern, inspect the kitchen and wash areas of hotels to ensure they are neat and clean, pollution because of vehicles, fatories, burning etc. is curbed, rivers and lakes do not have sewage running into them, prevent indiscriminate cutting of trees etc. there are rules and laws for all of these, but none of them are implemented. It is now the government has to act instead of just being a loud mouth. more
Now a days, all domestic and foreign news channels talk about the virus for 90% of their time and the word is getting round. People should take care. Of course, this will effect the world economy a lot more
Certainly, this is the right time to set up a virus testing laboratory in each district of India. War footing measure may save us from spreading the corona virus. more
