The Hb1AC showing three months average should be seen that it does not exceed 6.5. Walking, yoga and cycling will help to reduce the sugar level. There are also medicines in ayerveda. One should include karala and amla in diet. If the level doest not come down then allopathy treatment need to be taken. Diabetes cannot be completely cured. But it can be kept under control. more

I am a Type 2 Diabetic for more than 10 Years, having HbA1C 6.5, Fasting 85 & PP value between 100 & 140. Presently my weight is 75 Kg having ht. 5'9 1/2". Earlier my weight was 82 Kg & Fasting was 120 & PP more than 180. Since when I have changed my eating habits & controlled over so many parameters that my values are very much satisfactory. Here I would like to say that eat all types of sweets but I have changed my eating regime. Two years back I started examining myself from very close quarters & took Blood Sugars reading whenever I felt an increase in body heat. After lot of experiments I came to the conclusion that I should stop eating Non Veg., Cheese, Butter, Egg Omelette, Paneer, Cold Drinks, Ice Creams, deep fried items. I maintained my daily routine as In the morning Lime Water Juice with Sugar Free, 2 Parathas & 2 Cups of Tea with Sugar Free, after an hour a mug of Milk with no sugar, afternoon having salad comprising of Cucumber, Carrot & Tomato with Green Vegetables & Curds, 3 Chapatis. Evening 2-3 cups of Tea at Office, at night 3 chapatis, salad of Onion, Dal of various kind every day. On holidays/sundays Rice with Rajmah, Lobhiya or Chana. No restriction of rice/chapatis but either of the two & not both together. Earlier I used to go for a morning walk about 5.5 Km but since when there was a severe Ankle ache, I have stopped going for morning walk but in the evening I do go for brisk walk of about 30-35 minutes depending upon availability of time. At night as far as possible I prefer light food & a cup of milk with Bournvita before going to bed. My sleep is about 6 hours but I take my medicines religiously on time, which includes Reclimet, Zeta Plus, CV Met, Telista AMH, Ecospirin 150 & Pivasta 2. It has kept me fit so that I can work for more than 15 hours a day when I am of 67 years. True we have to listen & obey the orders of the Doctor but your own restrictions & help from your better half also gives you astonishing results. Diabetes is not a dreadful disease if handled properly but if taken lightly it is the most dreadful. Choice is yours after all you are the owner of yourself. more

In fact HbA1C should not exceed 6.0, for not falling in diabetic range.. The following measures if taken regularly will obviate someone coming in diabetic range. 1. Walking including brisk walking for 40 minutes a day. 2. Learn yoga and pranayama from an expert and do them regularly. 3. Stop/reduce intake of fried/oily/sugary/tinned/semi-cooked foods, aerated soft drinks, ready made fruit juices particularly from markets. 4. Increase intake of boiled green vegetables, fresh salads & fruit to nearly 50% of your total food. Keep a gap of minimum 30 minutes of fruits, salads and water from main meals. 5. Increase intake of methi, karela, aonla, aloe vera, haldi, dalchini. 6. Instead of normal tea and coffee take tea and coffee without milk and sugar or better take green, orthodox tea, herbal tea. 7. Avoid/reduce depression. Have a company of good people and keep yourself busy for good purpose. more
