The next step in railway modernization

To improve the performance of railways and safety and security oF people luggage I was thinking of railways could take a leaf out of airlines and private tour operators by implementing the following. Please kindly give your feedback on the idea and if feasible then take it to the appropriate authorities.
1) like airline passengers would be asked to come to the station an hour to an hour and a half before the departure time.
2) they could deposit their extra luggage with security check and tag at a counter.
3) these luggage will be put in the luggage van and unloaded at the destination and collected by the passengers from the counter.
4) this would ensure safety of luggage. People will find it easier to board and alighting easier for the passengers as they won't have to carry so many luggage.
5) it will also decongest the space inside thus making cleaning easier while the train is moving.
Please give your feedback on its feasibility. more

Yes, passengers must be allowed specific baggage and remaining should be booked in parcel van and that can be collected at the destination point. more
How it possible for Railways to work on Airline basis in terms of Handling the Luggage, Herculean Task and unpractical. Normally A train will have 1500 to 2000 passengers, handling there Luggage is almost impossible. On an average in the Metro cities, at least every 15 mins 1 train departs, to handle such a huge amount of Passenger will be a Kiosk at the platform. Railway wood need at minimum of 15- 20 waiting room, and with the existing infrastructure there will no place for such amenities. more
Good option if implemented. But may be difficult because of multiple stops and handling by many people. We may have to have luggage coaches. more
Yes , there should be one man one bag system in Railways. Maximum 15 kg and not more than 36 X 24 inches . While entry at the station it should be restricted . more
