The norm is carbide ripened mangoes
Friends I want to let you know that the norm in atleast north India currently is carbide ripened mangoes, natural is rare exception.
I have spoken to 10+ vendors in last month. Last week we had some natural alohanso mangoes which took 9 days to ripen then also they were not fully ripened.
Fssai should take some serious steps or just come out and state that they cant control this menace. So far i havent even seen a plan from them on how they would like to address this menace. more

Catching at least few cases and giving more publicity will help to some extent. But we do not hear single case caught in news. more

Similar situation is prevailing all over the country. The administration has utterly failed to prevent the menace with iron hands. Use of any kind of chemicals harmful to humane health is a criminal offence and in view of the fact that continued consumption of chemical ripened fruits may cause to life threatening diseases, the government should immediately enact suitable laws classifying this act of offence as criminal as well as an act of slow poisoning and attempt to murder and provisions for punishment be made accordingly. Unless such stringent laws are enacted and given effect to, such criminal activities out of greed will continue as the law enforcing agencies of the government have utterly failed to stop the menace. more
