The out of control loot on medical devices
Its very good that these consumers circles have been instrumental in getting rules of medical device MRP changed but enforcement to stop the loot is not happening.
Few days back the association of indian medical device manufacturers have requested minister of pharma/chemicals that trade margins should be capped at 85%. Isnt this asking for authorising the loot? So a device where manufacturer selling price is 10000 can have MRP of 18500. So an industry association demanding fictitious MRP as a reform. Imagine whats happening now?
Plus no consumer in a hospital can ever get the box of stent knee intra ocular lenses. Shouldnt that also be made a law so every hospital HAS to give consumer the original packing so they know they have been billed at MRP.
Consumer Ministry what can you do, what will you do so this is enforced?? more

When consumers are ultimately paying for every stuff being used in the hospital and each time a doctor visits the patient it must make mandatory to get such actions pre approved from the customer. As such all products’ cover/package must submit to the customer along with the final bill. more

Law makers are getting free treatment, They are big business man. Some must have share in hospitals and manufacturing unit. It is very hard they will listen common man. Lets not stop to raise our voice. more

Let us be practical. These are not FMCGs to offer 15-20% margin where they can have supply everyday and production at consumer scale. Stocking expenses, shelf life, transportation and many more factors affect the real margin. Even many consumer goods will have margin exceeding 85% such as bottled water, beverages, ready made clothes. more
