THE PLIGHT OF WATERWAYS & OPEN SPACE IN CITIES , TOWNS :

No doubt , majority of us are absolutely unaware & ignorant ,some are unobservant & unconcerned to the valuable waterways around and through the cities & towns . I think some unmindful people have the tendency to throw or spit whenever they see running water . It is no doubt a problem for the authorities to stop such actions . May be develop a team to be watchful advice such first , then warn next and resort to the final measure of imposing fines .

The Open space & Recreational facilities earmarked in cities and Towns .These spaces when not developed by authorities , it is liable to be denotified and auctioned [without doing much publicity ]or left to the discretion of the authorities. In prime areas these lands meant for Park, public utility , Play Ground are grabbed by the Landsharks in connivance with people in high places .

These pictures have become common scene today . THE AUTHORITIES SHOULD DEVELOP TANGIBLE METHODS TO COLLECT THE NON BIODEGRADABLES AND CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS TO SAVE OUR WATERWAYS & OPEN SPACES . more

If only the Government of Maharashtra and Mumbai Municipality would clean up and develop the MITHI river (and going further, the other small rivers in Mumbai), with Corniche on the banks, having facilities like cycling, jogging, walking, events, small eateries, picnic spots, gardens, amusements, it would be wonderful. This would be a great blessing for space starved Mumbaikars for outings with friends and families. It would also generate a large number of employment opportunities and create revenue for the Municipality. At this time, the river is clogged with rubbish and debris, and the waters are nearly 'dead'. The clean waterways can also serve to ferry folks over small distances of few KM. All in all, with proper imagination, monitoring and control, a wonderful ecosystem can evolve. more
60 % of pollution is due to road dirt and vehicle emission now- way out 1- vehicle exhaust pipe be designed afresh as slanting china tower the waste be used in carbon industry -2-every night sincerely roads be cleaned and then washed ,man power is present in our country but miss used rather its a machinery and job oriented work govt should do it-the dirt collected be used for fields and fertilizer plants .and for another 30 % industries be motivated and aided financially to install zero pollution manufacturing system-if 90 % is controlled balance 10 % will automatically be motivating more
When we lack ideas we should emulate where good work is being done for water bodies and rain water conservation. Google marina barrage Singapore where the public utility board(incharge of all connected with water unlike Bengaluru where responsibility is divided among 5 agencies all engaged in blame game) more
I couldn't agree with this more, I hope we awaken quickly to this cause and the other damage we are responsible for to nature and environment more
