The underlying is the intent to do for the society or community. This not only applies to the MLA or MP but also rests with each and every individual. The MP or MLA must display ona public portal or platform the budget they have received for the various activities, with details such as budgeted amount, contract awarded amount, name of contractor, start date and end date for each activity and up date the same ona monthly/quarterly basis such that even the public can assess his performance and ask him if he has failed or ignored. By doing this, he becomes accountable to the people and also serves as a barometer of promises, action and performance. There has to be third party to oversee the progress and quality of workmanship and persons from the respective constituency can be a part of this body to ensure public participation as well. more

I agree. MPs and MLAs should be playinh a more active role in "Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan". As of date it is only local people who are showing initiative. hence the movement is restricted to small pockets of society and has not caught up country wide more
