The speed of the train must be increased in phase manner from 40 to at least 100 Kms /hr for reducing the man-hour wastage in travelling. It will also improve health and happiness of passengers.
2.All bottle necks are to be removed for adhering schedule of the train. It is most important to run the train in time. There should not be any complacency for this, examples should be created.
3.Extra land should be sold/leased very judiciously. The same may be required in future for expansion in some places, but some other places may be really extra.
4.Shopping complex may be made at A&B type stations for increasing the earning of railways and reducing dependence on the finance minister. As far as possible we may try different methods to increase our earning instead depending on main budget or increasing the cost of the ticket for our operation. For new projects we may have to depend on the main budget. more

1. Trains going through forested areas should slow down; every year we lose elephants to speeding trains and drunken drivers. Railways should declare 2016 a "No Kill"year as a public commitment to our wildlife. 2. Windows should be spotless when train leaves originating station and washed regularly at designated stations on the route. 3. Planned tree planting, including thoughtful species selection, should be done in and around stations and on railway property. 4. Railways should consciously undertake preservation of old buildings -- there are several gems in their possession around the country. more
