Commissioning of electrification between shornur and Manglore. The work has been mostly completed between manglor shornur sector except sub station.The sub station work has not been taken up rail way along with drawing over head lines,The railway does notwant to complete the work.The work for electrification between madurai chennai was taken up along with this project,it was completed abot three years back and electric train continue to operate on these rut . Railway in kerala do not have any plan to complete the work.it is waiting for the manglore -Banglore line electrification to commence and manglore -mumbai konkan to finish the electrification,even if they complete the work the kerala stretch shall not be completed,it is seen that railway HQ at chennai has a different attitude towords kerala works and expansion.The doubling works of kottayam strech is still continuing rail way do not have any target date of completion of this works.About last 10 years the workis continuing,every now and then shut down work is continuing,but no progress on doubling work .Recently a section between eranakulam and Piravam was commissioned ,60KM stretch in to years.Very efficent railway.When they will improve it not better than Kerala PWD. more
