Even during pre-GST regime the traders had to pay the excise duties + sales tax in advance as the MRP concept included all kinds of taxes which was being realised only on selling thereof. So there is no question of extra investment excepting in those cases where GST is higher than the total of the earlier taxes. People who are in regular service get hike in their pay packets at regular intervals. Its better to talk about those who either don't have employment or have a very limited sources of income but forced to have their daily needs from the common markets. more

Does one even consider that, this tax eventually comes back to us in many ways. Have you not noticed any development around you. The development which is happening around us cannot be ignored. WORK is being done in every field. GST is so good, that if you notice it carefully, it has huge benefits. How much petrol, diesel is being saved across all the tolls in the entire country. No traffic at tolls. No collection points. No varied rate of products across different places. No only this. I have not even begun to tell you the benefits. It's massive. It's saving so much money. We understand atleast 33% time is saved in trucking.Hence transportation charges should come down and this benefit should be transferred to the consumer. more

It should be made obligatory on the part of the retailer to show on the bill itself how much he has reduced the price after the transportation costs come down. The Government need to be hard for ensuring discipline. more
