Though it is ideal, it is extremely difficult to implement in Railways as the available berths are spread over multiple compartments. In airlines, it is only one passenger cabin. more

In trains like rajdhani railways can experiment with reclining seats as are being used in business class for international travel. These can be converted into beds when required. May cost more but this problem of lower and upper berth can be solved more

Extra amount for LB will only make it a status symbol and make such people less cooperative. A youngsters who would pay and book LB would mostly have an attitude, I have paid for it so its my right. Increase the LB s for Sr. Citizen and also for Ladies above 50. Ensure that above 65 and FM above 50 are spared UB for sure. While on line booking tickets the availability of LB for Sr Citizen should also be shown bellow the format. In fact one more option may be added for Sr. Citizen 'Book only if at ieast one LB and one MB are available together'. more

YES I AGGREE WITH MR VISWANTAH BUT LOWER BERTHS CAN BE SOLD AT CHARGING EXTRA AMOUNT SAY 25% OF TICKET AMOUNT SO AS TO STOP MISUSING THE LOWER BERTHS IT IS OBSERVED EVEN YOUNG PEOPLE ARE TAKING AWAY LOWER BERTHS ,EXTRA CHARGES PLUS AGE FACTOR SHOULD BE CONSIDERED,LAXMAN LAHORI more
