Throat Issues with my 6 year old

Hello Parents and Dr.

My 6 year old is struggling with throat and his voice has completely changed. Doesn't have fever. What can we give him to make him feel better and get the voice back. Doesn't like drinking warm things...

i think your child is having upper respiratoy tract infection most likely viral in origin. Home remedies like Mr. sandesh has suggested can be done. some ayurvedic lozenges are also available in market can be tried. If he can do gargles, that will be best for him, try with lukewarm water. If fever and breathing problem come, see your pediatrician. more

another useful OTC remedy is "Madhuvani" from Dabur (http://www.dabur.com/Products-Ayurvedic%20Specialities-Madhuvaani). i personally find it quite helpful. more

try ginger extract with some honey, or tulsi extract with some honey more
