Levying this type of conditions is not acceptable at all.Specially Senior Citizens, may not be well, may be away from their home vising their kids etc. more
Dear Gurg

I appreciate your concerns as I am a senior citizen. However there cannot be an excuse for non filing on time. more
When there is no demand to pay IT and the individual is proceeding abroad for six months from 01 May 2018, what would be the effect of this measure for not timely filing the return on time.  One can file a return till the end of next March ie., 2019 when the due IT has already been paid during the course of the year by advance payment of taxperiodically and provisional self assessment.  Pl clarify, if u can. From: Pritam Sharma Sent: Mon, 05 Feb 2018 02:18:48To: MANSABDAR@REDIFF.COMSubject: "Timely Income Tax Returns" more
Dear ShamRao

if the assessee do not have taxable income and there is no TDS or any carry forward loss, then he need not file ITR,so you may proceed abroad on 01.05.2018.No issues.

Now coming to filing of ITR for FY ending March 2019 you need to check your status, whether NON resident or resident. It depends on your stay abroad. If your stay is less than 182 days in India in FY 2018-19 ,then your status is NRI more
Dear Ramesh Kapoor Please check your 26 As and claim all such entries as your TDS. If the Bank delays and file the statement next year, you can claim in the nex year. Do not wait for physical form 16A more
Last year my bank did not send 16 A till end of June. There may be such delays by deductors delaying the filing of return. Any remedies? more
This is the highendedness of the government. It looks government has taken for granted that whatever whimsical decision they take, people will have no choice but to accept them. On one hand government declares several amnesty schemes for tax defaulters, at all levels i.e. central government, state government, local bodies and big relaxations for biggest defaulters by Banks and on the other hand the smaller tax payers are being herrassed by such stipulations. more
Dear OM Prakash
The information shared by Pritam Sharma is wrong. So cool down more
