Railways are violating MRTP Act in forcing us to buy their food along with train tkt. They are a monopoly org in trains business, so they should not sell food @Rs.245 with tkt of Rs750 from borivali to Ahmedabad in Satabdi express. Even if price of Rs.245 is reasonable, it should be optional, not compulsory. more
Tips to any salaried employee need to be avoided with clear "NO". It must be treated as bribe. more
This happened when we travelled last month with family between Delhi and Agra in Shatabdi express. Just before the arrival of Agra the service guy keeps a plate in front of us and was asking for tips (while it was very clearly written to avoid tips). TT was also present in the same coach but remained a mute spectator. It gave us all a feeler that he gets his share from the collection. It is such a shame. There should be a provision in IRCTC apps to immediately give a complaint on such personnel and also keep the complainant updated of the status. Reason for mentioning the 2nd part is that I had complained to IRCTC toll free about excess rates collected in HYD station but no action was taken. Are these 'outsourced' staff not paid enough by their employer. In my view, the contractor should be fined 10x times if his staff is found guilty. that's the only way to curb this scam. more
'Better do not give tips, they will not snatch from your pocket. Keep courage to say , 'No' for the tip. more
Really why food should be made compulsory .In shatabdi express it is their and tips at the end. Rail way people know this but remain silent. compulsion of taking food and collection of tips should be stopped with immediate effect. more
Suggestions to Railways, 1= See that all your coaches & Engines work for 12 hours a day, atleast. Otherwise you will make losses. Guj Mail Starts @10pm from Mumbai & reaches Ahmedabad @6-30am. It restarts @10pm from Amd. Thus in a day, it runs only 10 hours. It is a premium train with 14 AC coaches, wasted for 14 hrs a day. Extend it to Abu / Udaipur or Rajkot / Gandhidham and sweat your asset for 18 hours a day. You will generate more revenues and more employment. W.Rly has already done this in Duranto which was leaving Mumbai at 23.25hrs and reaching Ahmedabad at 5.50 am and then restarting from Amd @ 23.45 hrs towards Mumbai. Thus using the most advanced coaches for 6.05 hours per day !! Only after my suggestion, they extended it to Rajkot. Thanks. But they are not getting passengers ! Because a) The trains average speed drops from 90km/hr between Mumbai - Ahmedabad to less than 60 km/hr from Amd to Rajkot . b) The train does not stop at Andheri, Borivli, Vasai, the feeder stations which are suburbs of Mumbai and which have large Gujarati population going to Rajkot. Stop it at Borivli and the train will go full 2= For same above reason, Bullet train will be a failure. While coming to Mumbai from Ahmedabad, it diverts from Virar to Thane and then to BKC. Thane has hardly any Guj population and it skips Andheri, Borivli, Vasai. Bullet train must stop at Borivli to get Pax 3= You are selling food @Rs.245 in Satabdi, Mumbai to Ahmedabad, compulsory, together with Rly Tkt. This is illegal as you are a monopoly organisation in Railways and you can not force sell your food. Sell it like in Indigo to those who want to buy. 4= Increase max speed to 160 from 130/110 for trains by buying 110 metre long jointless rails. It will reduce vibrations & noice. 5= Above all, MAKE RAIL TRAVELL A MATTER OF PRIDE & EGO. Public should not feel that AirTravell is superior. For this, make 5-10 storied malls/ office complex above each Rly Stn. atleast in Mumbai. You will earn Rs.100crores at each station. more
which duranto ? Mumbai-Ahmedabad Duranto is extended to Rajkot. more
Duranto , should go to Pune from Thane , instead of Bandra . more
