Tiruvallur Railway station is neglected by Railway administration - Reg.

Railway administration has classified railway stations as A1,A,B,C,D,E & F based on the Annual non suburban revenue earned by the station. To my knowledge Annual Non suburban income exceeds Rs.60 crores per yer is classified as A1 station, 8 to 60 Crore is classified as A class station and 4 to 8 Crore is classified as B class station.
Recent RTI information received from Chennai Division of Southern Railway reveals the fact the more non suburban revenue earning station is classified as B class station and less non suburban revenue earning station is kept in A class status. (RTI letter No. M/C.209/RTI/EARNINGS/2015 dated 21.08.2015 form D.R.M.(C)'s office, Chennai - 600 003)
As per the RTI, Tiruvallur (TRL) railway station is earning average Non suburban income of Rs.10.67 Crores per year is classified as B Class station and Chengalpattu (CGL) railway station is earning average non suburban income of 8.65 Crores per year is classified as A class station. Both the stations are situated in Chennai Division of Southern Railway and both the stations are suburban terminal railway stations. This data shows that Tiruvallur railway station is neglected by the Southern Railway administration.
Chengalpattu station is blessed with stoppage all express/Special trains which are passing thro' this station. But at Tiruvallur, only few express trains are stopping and most of the express trains are skipping Tiruvallur without stoppage. But as per the data, Tiruvallur railway station is earning more non suburban revenue than Chengalpattu. So, Tiruvallur is deserves stoppage of all passing through express trains and special trains (Except prestigious trains like Shadhapti, Duranto etc.,).
Tiruvallur railway station is to be upgrades as A class station at the earliest and amount allotted for improvement of A class stations is to be allotted to Tiruvallur also. Because many passenger amenities are to be carriedout at Tiruvallur which are pending since very long time.

Ministry of Railway stop this useless drama.... 90% railway employees do not report on duty.. they pay bribe to supervisor and get the salary without doing any work.. 1st of all put all such employees in Jail and forfeit their all property and recover the salary paid to them... !!! more

No doubt. Tiruvallur is deserving station for A class upgradation. Tiruvallur is also a district head quarters. more

It is true. Tiruvallur railway station (Including Chennai to Tiruvallur suburban section) is treated with step mother treatment. Railway board officials should visit Tiruvallur suburban section improve the stations. more

Why such a partisan attitude is shown on Tiruvallur by Southern Railway. Thanks to Mr.Baskar for posting the RTI information in the Local circle. more
