To eradicate castism---Surname or "lastname" should be at one's own will

The biggest problem for India is a society divided on caste lines..Often the "surname" or "lastname" reflects one's caste or the community he belongs to .

To get rid of this problem i have some suggestions--
1)Eliminate the concept of surnames across India as it is implemented in southern states eg R Ashvin,S sreesanth,L Balaji etc..The names nowhere reflect a person's caste and discrimination can be avoided toa certain extent..Name with the Initial of father would be a possible solution

2)The other possibility I can think of is-- giving freedom to all the individuals to choose the surname of one's own choice Like xyz Indian, abc bharatiya and other possibilities one can think of..There should be local offices that help individuals to shed their existing surnames and opt for new surnames if somebody desires..Minimum paperwork and the individual would be identified with same name and a new surname ..

3) The mention of caste should not be present in school leaving certificates and other places unless the caste is of some importance for some specific reason..People can make caste certificates from their parents certificates but the mention of caste should be avoided in any document ..

India would find difficult to become Bharat unless people unite . more

Thank you. I am not surprised to see very minimum comments here. I am from the south. This name business affects us a lot. I am happy that at least a few from the north are writing on this subject. more
If modiji does not take a step in this dirextion, nobody ever would do so and as a consequence the entire society would suffer in the future more
THE POLITICAL THIRST AND HUNGER ARE PRACTICING THIS DIVIDE AND RULE POLICY FROM CASTS TO .. .. .. NOW, THE GENDER. more
If the society remains united,it will be better for the future..Policies should be focused on uniting the people more
AS LONG AS THE RULE OF PRINCES PERSISTED AND TILL BRITISHIANS LEFT THEIR RULE, NONE DEVIDED THE SOCIETY AND SOCIETY IN ITS SOCIAL LIFE NEVER GOT DIVIDED SOCIALLY. THE CAST RECOGNITION UNDER A GOVERNING RULE PLANTED AND STARTED WITH THE FORMATION OF INDIAN CONSTITUTION UN-KNOWINGLY SINCE AT THAT TIME, THERE WAS NO WAY OF IDENTIFYING / ASSESSING THOSE OF SPECIAL NEEDS & SO, WISELY SELECTED A SCHEDULED CASTS AND SCHEDULED TRIBES. THEY HAVE NOT THOUGHT THAT THIS WILL ATTRACT POLITICS UNDER THE DEMOCRACY AND MORALE OF THAT TIME. more
