Toll Charges
Since last >20 yrs, Govt has found that BOT of Highways is the most "Legal" way of looting Aam Admi. Slowly the situation has come to the fact that on an average there is a Toll booth at every 50 kms across the country. Why does the Govt collect Income Tax, Serv Tax, Sales Tax etc & still cant provide good Roads.
More over the Toll collection never ends as the contractor continues to collect Toll even for upkeep & maintenance of the Road. Who keeps a track I don't know.

Demonstration doesn't mean only standing on the road it has broader meaning including court proceedings if required more

demonstration is not bad but may not be good enough, as these guys will just ignore a few guys standing on the roads and shouting ... plus if we can get hold of the financials and then challange the commercial agreement in the court of law thru a PIL, we may be able to achieve something more

We can for that we have to file RTI applications. This can be used for our referrals only by doing this it won't be of much help as other activists have tried only we can do is demonstrate more

are the financials of the Toll companies made public...if not we will first need to get these numbers more

On an average 45 kms is the norms but toll booths are there within the radius of 10 to 30 kms which is not right more
