Tooth pain after Root canal treatment
I had done root canal treatment last month, now there is pain in my tooth gums and it is sometimes much painful.. what is the remedy? more

Then definitely the root canal is not complete. Go back to your doctor and ask him for the x ray and to show you that 1. all roots have been attended to & 2. that each root has been treated till the bottom. Who is the doctor? & what did he charge? This will show if he is good or not. more

No x-ray has been done by my doctor after completing the root canal. He just suggested to put the cap on it after taking antibiotic for 5 days that he prescribed. But after taking the antibiotics for 5 days pain still present in my tooth. more

Well Mr. Maitr, it is clear that the root canal that has been done is not complete. You check the x-ray of the tooth, and you should see that the one /two or three (depends on which tooth has been worked on), is completely made dead right until the bottom end. It can be seen as a white line, and this should extend till the bottom. Many times the same is not done to the bottom end as the screw encounters resistance and they stop. But it has to be right till the end, and all the roots are to be operated on. Once the root canal has been done, there should be no pain at all, as the tooth is dead. Go back to the doctor and see the x-ray which he should have taken and shown to you after doing the root canal, showing that all the roots have been made dead till the bottom end.
