Top Immediate Term Priorities for the Government

1. Urban Infrastructure Development: The cities are growing fast and we need a 50 years infra plan for the cities. This include transportation, water, waste water, sanitation, healthcare, education, recreation and more.
2. Investment Climate: We need a strong Investment Climate. The cumulative backlog on infrastructure development can not be complete without international funding. International Investor look forward to Clear Policy, No retrospective change in regulation, Speedy decision making at Government and Corruption free Environment.
3. Basic Education and healthcare: has gone out of the reach for common masses. It has become too expensive. A large scale plan for above should be all. This will provide equal opportunity to all at least upto basic education level.
4. Impact of PPP partnership: The present PPP partnerships are for 25-30 years. for e.g. Nobody rally realise that 20 years from now, a road trip from Mumbai to Nagpur, you will be required to pay Rs 2000 as toll or may be more. I believe something wrong somewhere, either project costs are escalated or something else. We need to thing a more efficient way of doing it. It may be more appropriate to have current deficit that putting huge burden on public.
5. Solar Power (Technology Innovation): India has huge potential to be global power in solar energy. Beside, having such a potential, we are importing 100% of basis raw material. (Whether imported modules or Domestic Modules where raw material is imported). We need to focus on basic raw materials and technology (rather than being a converter). Please implement reforms to convert this country into a technology based country rather commercial converter and manufacturer. (why Indian brain has to go to US or Germany, innovation opportunity should be available in India). I believe everything can not be left to Private Sector, some strategic initiative should be spear headed by Government.
There is always more the right but a few steps at a time.
