Toy Industry
Earlier this month there was a notification adding restrictions on toy imports and some media reports suggested that it was a result of some discussion in the localcircles website. I have the following questions for all who participated in such exercise?
1) Does the country have enough BIS labs to test all imported toys?
2) Are there standards for the various types of toys?
3) If not how can such a ruling be enforced with immediate effect?
4) what about containers that were on the way and are now at customs port?
Businesses are getting hurt because no one seems to be listening to their side of the story. regulations are being made just listening to end users.
Please reflect and suggest way forward.

BIS Will not have labs-but supports third party certification,and approved laboratory tests.The criteria is in BIS.The certifications are based on the approved third party. Setting standards in each industry is also part of the industry. This goes like known industries of steel-cement etc. Cost assessment and marketing can be supported by the governments if industry gets its standard. more

This will soon reflect in many other areas, I am afraid. I am sure to get US help in Doklam case for warding off China, our 56" Modi has gone ahead and agreed to sell India to the American bank cartel. Then again, he will be partial to some who back him and try to sacrifice the others where the leadership is weak. We must watch him. more
