Toys import restriction

Some time back based on the localcircles poll, toys were being restricted from imports in India without proper certification. Chinese toys are still available in our markets. Can some from Bureau of Indian Standards please advise what is latest on this. Are toy companies or importers taking licenses and only then importing? more

Yes, I agree with the views of Mr. Jaya Kumar. Our government may have restricted roles to play in this regard and against the Trade Agreement, if any, with China. But as citizens we can play a great role by avoiding to purchase all such items, which are already proved to be substandard. As I have seen, the Chinese products available in western countries are good in qualities but their substandard and rejected products are just dumped in India. We should unitedly decide to avoid such substandard products so that their import is automatically stopped. more
I think India had restricted Crackers from china as the BIS had banned some of the chemicals included in the crackers manufactured in China. i am not sure about the sale of the Chinese crackers this season. The Government wants the citizens not to be anti national . This is one area where the citizens can exhibit their nationalism by avoiding products from countries which are unfriendly towards India. Many in the circles have expressed their opinion to avoid such products for the sake of some saving a few bucks. The few bucks that we save by buying these products we are stifling our craftsmen and women . They are not able to practice their craftsmanship and they come down in the grade. more
Gandhi ji said Strengthen the Mother Country using Khadi and such based products. BUT, diluted from rootlevel. more
Beauty is the thing of joy. this is not applicable to over exposing of human body, every thing should be in limits more
To always put the blame squarely on the government is counter productive. We need to discipline ourselves and stop from succumbing to the urge of buying these harmful toys in our greed for saving a few rupees. We have a duty too. more
Let government come out with some guidelines. more
