Trade Margin Cap on Medical Devices

Totally support this localcircles survey for Govt to continue capping of medical device prices. The reality I have come to know is that hospitals and doctors want big cuts and therefore they want MRP to be high so they can make big money. the cap of 30% sale prices to distributor and end consumer prices is also ok but then multinationals will manipulate landing prices in this case. Anyways legal metrology action is warranted after all they changed the rules to disclose mrp and must validate if its happening.

Many products do not have MRP. If they have that is very high. There need to be MRP fixing mechanism with involvement of Govt representative who is FIRST PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT FIXATION. more
The trade margins of 30% at retail is based on the ex-factory price, or, landed price after payment of customs duty, etc. For the wholesalers, it must not be more than 10%. In any case, the MRP must not exceed more than 65% on the imported landed product or the ex-factory price and it covers the distribution and value addition e.g. advertisement educating the consumers about the products. more
Capping has to be there.Max profit including all stages should be Maximum 30%. more
Medical device, Medicine and medical test all should be caped. more
Welcome to cap the MRP . But there should be a rational margins for all medical products . The profit for the Manufacturer ,/ importer , Distributor , retailer . Distributor has a margin and retailer has a margin . Some pharmacies attached to nursing homes buy at wholesale rates and knock off both the margins . This comes in some cases to evn more than 100 % . The weights and Measures should go into all the matter . more
