Traders against Digital India

The traders seem to be against digital india.

Yesterday got my car tyres changed and I wanted to pay by card.

The tyre shop fellow says I will charge addl 2% if U will pay by card. I walked 5 mins to an atm took money out and paid by cash.

Most of India is doing this.

Why cant the govt pass a rule that no business can charge addl surcharges on digital payments. more

The Gov itself, CHEATS by charging "convenience charge" for transacting "on line". Banks charging for SMS etc. On Fri, 18 Oct, 2019, 01:50 Nikita Merchant, wrote: > more

Manupulation of records is common feature in Indian Business community. Over and above the Digital activities leads to maintenance of accounts. more
The card swipe machine is installed at the merchant location (shopkeeper) by card payment processing companies or banks. These people charge 2% on each transaction amount to the shopkeeper. It is the shopkeeper who decides if he wants to pass these additional charges to the customer or can bear the cost himself. the shopkeeper also looses on the rolling cash as the card payment companies typically pay the shopkeeper after 7 -15 days. By informing the client upfront he is actually being transparent. He could have included the transaction amount in the bill itself without informing and then the customer would have been happy that he has not been charged extra. Please note that nothing in this world is free. The shopkeepers who do not charge extra for the card payment mostly include the charges in the cost itself. more
Of late, I have seen that many small vendors have started taking digital payments. If you want to pay digitally, check if the business access digital payments (and if it works). If not, go to another vendor (unless there is no other vendor around). more
