Traders evading GST all over the place

Yesterday I got copy and bind work done for over 10000 rupees and the printer wont take anything other than cash and give a receipt from bill book.

When asked how you account for it, he laughs and looks at me as if I am stupid. Says this bill book is just to make customer happy. We tear it and throw away.

Says all of Delhi does this.gst or pre gst, he cant be caught. more

We must however follow the rules and educate these fellows or things may never change. Govt and consumers both must do their part more
Govt work on honesty. If you pay tax one time, You will get notice every time to pay tax. Otherwise they raid your premises to collect tax. If your neighbor not pay any tax, Tax officials wait for complain to raid on your neighbor. more
Because there is no 360 Degree check, A consumer cant know, the GST paid by him, is deposited at govt account. Like TDS, it should be transparent. more
It is either they scare you after receiving a restaurant bill for Rs1000 which includes Rs300 as GST or you pay Rs10000 Not knowing whether there is GST in it and that will not be remitted to Govt. Then there is a corrupt official who is blind to this. This is parallel economy. What is (real) GDP? a notional figure? and controlling inflation - that is why , alteast let the privileged live happily. Unless the corrupt introspect, it will not turn around alteast not in our life time. more
Some steps like this can help: - Reduce the GST tax rates to encourage more tax collection. - Pakistan gives a monetary incentive to it's tax collectors - we can consider this option. - Bangladesh gives incentives to tax payers - we can consider this option. more
