Traders still bypassing GST

Many many traders in these so called diwali melas and markets are still asking for cash and completely skipping gst.

If a supplier in punjab is sending stuff to traders in Delhi and not really held accountable to pay gst, how will tax evasion be stopped. It will continue. Pls enlighten me experts. more

In lack of any checking and due to heavy slab of 28% government is indirectly promoting business of omitting GST. more
GST - is a very complicated issue. Not only buyer but seller has to file the return and the same must match to take credit. If a seller in Punjab has sold the material to a seller in Diwadi mela, both should have registered GST number. Other wise seller will not get the return. MY QUESTION - THE SELLER IN DIWALI MELA HAS GST NUMBER? ALSO IF I HAVE GST No. and given my address Block A, Plot 38, Sector 6, NOIDA, UP. I can not sell from any other place except the one mentioned in my GST registration certificate. Certificate is valid for the premises given to authority, you can you change according to your convenience on daily basis. more
Sh.Sudesh Rai This is very difficult for the government to check each and every trader on daily basis, or check all movements of goods. The solution lies with us. If we, all the customers - who buys the goods ask for Tax invoice, these traders will be forced to get registered and deposit GST to government. If every one decide not to pay cash and purchase from the shop which accepts digital payments, then all the traders will starting accepting digital payment. Please note that "Customer is a king" - So if all customers decide and don't purchase from unregistered dealers who ask for cash payment, they will have no choice but to accept digital payments - CA Ashok Malhotra more
The situation is even worse in respect of retail tobacco sales. No one sells at MRP. more
