We have seen multiple posts/comments from you on traffic issues in this circle. With this post, we would like to seek everyone's inputs on traffic issues in the entire district.
We will also incorporate any inputs given by you in recent past via other Noida circles. The objective is to understand all the issues, and then have a separate discussion on solutions (actions from citizens and from administration).

We can resolve the problem of man power shortage, for controlling traffic, by hiring those ex-service men (especially soldiers) who get compulsory retirement from services after having crossed the mandatory age limit. Their remunerations will be more than recovered by the amount of fines they collect from the errant drivers and the speed daredevils. Not only it shall not burden the administration with any financial load it shall also help in making the roads safer and force those smart alecs who take the traffic policemen for granted and violate rules with impunity, to fall in line more

It may not be possible for Traffic Cops to leave their normal work and attend to those breaking rules for collecting penalties. It is necessary therefore that there should be a team of 4-5 cops and sub-inspectors posted at specific locations, which may change from day to day, for stopping rule breakers and collecting penalties from them. The group can go to different places on different days without any specific schedule, so that it is a surprise for traffic violators. more

That would be the right approach. Once the views flow in take some hard decisions and please involve the citizens of Noida. They can be given some privileges to reprimand and sometimes take charge of the traffic as a help.Some times traffic lights do not work and it takes seconds to have a congestion .Someone can get down and start controlling till the traffic is smooth again. DM Sir, The traffic cop must be empowered to impose and collect penalty on behalf of Government from Traffic Rules Violators on the Spot for curbing monster of the road. more

Thank you Mr. DM for showing enthusiasm to ameliorate the worst and hazardous Traffic mismanagement. But first thing, which I again want to reiterate that you have to ensure proper functioning of the red/ green lights with counters. Secondly these should be so prominent that these are visible from a logical distance and any obstruction to their visibility needs to be removed. To avoid number of red lights which adds to the inconvenience the public and equally for the administration to maintain these, an alternative to convert some crossing into ROUNDABOUTS can also be examined. more
