TRAI sectoral regulator taking us for a royal ride

A recent research conducted by us, on various tariff amendment order's and the subsequent press note No. 28 of 2016 issued by an expert body, TRAI " Telecom Regulatory Authority of India " the sector regulator for Telecommunication and Broadcasting & Cable Services in India, have revealed startling facts, which cannot be ignored by any person of sound mind.
It has been revealed:
TRAI adopted new rule of law ‘violator rewarded’ reasons best known to their officers.
TRAI made their own indicative or experimental GDP deflator otherwise the same is only made and published by the Ministry of Commerce, In our understanding the Ministry has not published any GDP deflator in 2016. While TRAI continued to use their own experimental GDP deflator instead of taking reference of WPI ( Whole Sale Price Index ) while issuing its various tariff amendment orders, allowing arbitrary inflation based tariff hikes to be charged by few.
TRAI is also taking and readily complying with oral industry demands made, for any hike in tariff, that suits the interest of the stake holders vis-à-vis its own officials.
Please find attached our detailed representation sent to this expert body TRAI, that we feel is protecting the interest of the consumers at large by virtue to regulate telecom services, including fixation/revision of tariffs for telecom and TV services which earlier vested in the Central Government. more

Recently, I was interested to get internet connection from BSNL (Calcutta Telephones) and for that I applied by paying Rs.500/=. After several chasing I could able to know that BSNL can not give connection to my residence as there is a problem. When I mentioned that there are BSNL connections mostly many of my nieghbours. Reply was NOT POSSIBLE. Later I could able to know that BSNL people refuses to many persons only to give room for a private cable internet operator. Who will take action to these unscrupulous BSNL persons and save government earning. more

Trai never replies to our complaint even after sending them a no of reminders. I complained about the incorrect counting method of recharge by the tata Tele(Photon) to trai but they have nor replied. In fact, Tata-Tele advertised for 28 days but provide services for 27 days. It is due to the fact they count both days( Date of charging +date of completion) which is angainst the international standard of counting. Hope, Trai will look into it and take suitable action to rectify this error. Dr N C Jain more

I too had experience with TRAI, Where in Air tel Charged Rs.1800 as charges for Internet on my wife's connection, I reported this matter to TRAI, 3 to 4 times. They just forward this to Air tel to take action. I kept doing this, ultimately AIRTEL stopped harassing me, but no mail has come from them for closures of the issue. TRAI should have separate body to address the public grievance. I took almost 8 months. more

TRAI should start entertaining small complaints, edit and solve a big issue. like my BB: down time is more than uptime......it can only be established/documented by an expert system like TRAI. i can not do it. sometime TRAI should cancel some telco's license to teach a lesson....not mere penalty.....because they accrue the money through non sense sms_es.
