Recently many trains are cancelled due to FANI alert, It was a too early faulty decision. I had planned from Kollam to Tirupathi on 21-05-2019 Nizamudeen, Also booked a retiring room in Tirupathi, return tickets are also booked, due to Nizamudeen cancellation all my travel plan is Affected only way is to cancel other tickets and retiring room, If train ticket get cancelled I can get refund amount also Retiring room get cancelled too, I just got a reply that it may refund after journey date, This is too difficult for the customer, as other travelling arrangement needs to be done. If the train can restore, then do it at the earliest possible time, else make a confirm decision at the first instance itself, Minimum day for a Train restoration should be fixed. As all the technology advancement happened only Vigilant and customer Friendly Officers are lacking. more
Train cancellation issue must be handled more smartly to give alternative options. For instance I had booked 6 tickets by bct adi double decker from borivali to vadodara for 9th Nov 2018 to attend a marriage on 10 th and 11th. The tickets were booked a month in advance when only ddexp tickets were available. After I reached Mumbai on 9th morning I got a SMS saying the train is cancelled between bct and valsad ! Having travelled already from Chennai I was in great dilemma. Searching for alternative I found a duplicate rajdhani with special fares was leaving 2.30hrs later reaching 1 hr later. Delighted to see alternative I saw nearly 1200 yes 1200 seats are available in AC 3T and 22 in AC 2T. But the catch was min fare in 3T was 1100 with no concession for Sr ctzn or children. More over I will have to travel 40 km by taxi to bct as spl rajdhani had no stoppage before Baroda. So we took a car to go to Baroda up and down which worked cheaper than to and fro rail travel. Here I feel railways lost an opportunity to to earn some money. While no reason was given the cancellation of DD maybe due to engineering reason but as spl rajdhani was running empty railways could have offered to carry all affected Baroda passengers of DD by AC 3Tin it. ( I have seen in SR and SWR ac3t is being used in lieu of CC in certain routes). While I may get refund for the cancelled train I had to cancel my return tickets from Baroda paying cancellation charges, which is a railway imposed loss for me. Also it shows the harebrained spl / dynamic fare system is actually a drain on public money. Moreover while asking public to book 4 months in advance and cancelling the service on day of service calls for a compensation and not just a refund. This is definitely a deficiency in service. more
its a request to reserve the lower berth for senior citizen many a time when a ticket is booked senior citizen will get upper or middle and others will get lower berths & lot of people without any physical disability just having a certificate by other ways get the berth concerned officials on the train should check this and take action on such passengers more
Railway should understand who are the people using their services, They are the common man who cannot go to consumer court, complain to any legal authority. old people prefer train because it is comfortable. Book tickets three month before to attend family functions, marriages and suddenly found train got cancelled a day before start journey. Can heartless official understand people feeling, never? I personally face a problem, our whole family went to Lucknow to attend marriage but suddenly we came to know our return train got cancelled. We twitt to RLy minister but as ususal no reply.we have no option left to travel by bus.I suggest if they are cancelling train at least they should accommodate people in other trains who really need that. Railway should increase own working efficiency so that they have not to cancel train more
sir punctuality of running train is important & maintain reservation policy in sleeper class & prohibited to illegal vendors in sleeper class/besides this in spacial trains why railway deduct 50% of fairs after cancellation.when facility is not same as regular trains. more
