cancellation to be informed by sms at the earliest, alternative arrangement to be provided. y. s. rao. more
While the delays of arrival and departures of the trains shall be sent by SMS to the passengers, it is desirable that the Railways mature to a high level of performance and passengers satisfaction by adopting the practices of reputed airlines across the globe. All the points suggested by Dr. Basudeb Bhattacharya are relevant and shall be implemented forthwith as soon as possible. more
It May not be possible to provide a special train to accommodate all the passengers of the cancelled train immediately. It is possible to attach one or two compartments in the immediate next train, at least to accommodate those passengers that possess tickets for onward journey on a connecting train.long distance passengers only are to be accommodated. If they miss the connection , a similar arrangement is to made for their onward journey. more
SMS be sent to passenger as advance as possible along with information for alternative arrangement available or not. If available then schedule etc. Cancellation should be in rarest of rare case. more
