TRAIN ROUTES

Now that the Railways is about to introduce trains in different routes it is advised that the earlier routes as it were should not be reintroduced with the stops as it was. Many of the routes and stops were provided at the vested interests of politicians instead of convenience for the public. It is suggested that all long routes running for more than 100 kms. should have stops only at the district headquarters only. Local passenger trains should be introduced for connecting the passengers who are to board the long distance trains with convenience timings. This will be of much convenience for the long distance passengers without robbing their time stopping at unimportant stations or stations without much passengers. The running time of the log distance trains can also be reduced to much extent by this action. more

Sir, I agree with your suggestion for it facilitates speeding up of trains and consequent reduction in journey time. But unfortunately the passenger/ shuttle trains to connect to fast trains have to run on the same tracks. That causes problems in signalling and consequent late running of both shuttle trains. We need immediate upgrading of present two tracks to preferably four tracks or at least 3 tracks. Until then system of running continuously for long time say 4 to 5 hours non-stop is a difficult proposal to introduce. more
Railways follows some outdated rules for stoppage of long distance trains. Overnight trains shall start before 11:00pm and take in passengers not later than 00:00 hours. Stoppage shall be 04:30 am and onwards, it does make sense to stop the train between 00:00 to 04:30 am, for whatever reason. All British rule Div.HQ, Zonal HQ, etc . mandatory stoppages to be scrapped. This is the best time, hope something good to happen. more
I agree with post of S/Shri KRISHNAN VYDIANATHAN and Jayakumar Daniel. No. of passengers boarding or detraining only should be consideration for stoppage of Long Distance Trains. Alaso as said by Shri KRISHNAN VYDIANATHAN suitable local trains should be available to passengers from other stations. RYK. more
It should be based on past record of number of passengers from boarding from a particular station, not based on whether that is district HQ or not. more
Yes, fully agreed. more
As far as the stoppages of fast trains is concerned , it should be only on the basis of number of passengers patronizing / using the station/ s. There shouldnt be another repeat pf stoppage around chambal valley on the demand of the then M.P. Poolan Devi more
