The nation has just been able to bring the pandemic some what under control because of implementing various precaution and safety measures including clamping of lock downs and night curfew by almost all states. Still the number of daily infection is considerably high. Under such a situation, why should we be in a hurry to get the trains started. Let the railways do it in a phased manner as they are presently doing instead of unnecessarily creating pressure tactics on them. Thereafter, if the pandemic again reverse its movement upwards, we will be on the fore front to criticize them. Its better to refrain from such acts at this critical time. more
Restarting of trains is welcome. But what is being done about the crowding? Definitely, all people will not be following the required protocols, especially in the sleeper and unreserved coaches. Some percentage of passengers will definitely be positive to the virus and they may not be aware of it. This can lead to spreading of the virus to other passengers and translocate the virus to other areas. more
Would be good if the railways could specify how they plan to ensure cleanliness, no crowding, masking, no talking and talking on mobile, emergency readiness - in the trains and platforms. Expecting passengers to adhere to these without any monitoring and penalties would be futile. more
