Trains to start from 12th
Indian Railways plans to gradually restart passenger train operations from 12th May, 2020, initially with 15 pairs of trains (30 return journeys). These trains will be run as special trains from New Delhi Station connecting Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi.
Booking for reservation in these trains will start at 4 pm on 11th May and will be available only on the IRCTC website (https://www.irctc.co.in/). Ticket booking counters at the railway stations shall remain closed and no counter tickets (including platform tickets) shall be issued. Only passengers with valid confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the railway stations. It will be mandatory for the passengers to wear face cover and undergo screening at departure and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train. Slowly, train should be introduced in other important routes to pickup stranded passengers. more

The govt has done enough to educate and make citizens aware of everything about corona by locking them in their homes for over good 50 days and we remember every coron lesson by heart now. It is most incomprehensible now, when we know the nos of new cases are not going to drop even if the lockdown continues for 6 months, Govt is indeed kind to gift us 30 pair of trains from its generous pocket. It is not difficult to appreciate why govt is trying to micro manage. Transport being the prime mover of economy decision has to be binary yes or no without any nautanki to justify the lockdown. The hell is not going to break loose if railways start business as usual. We are grateful to pradhaan chowkidar who guarded entry and spread of corona into our country and also our pradhan sewak to have done great seva to poor migrants we now request our dear pradhan mantri to grant us liberty to lead our life naturally normally and without obligation of your govt concessions and relaxations. Your bureaucracy is hell bent to drag you down from the adorable place of love in our hearts. A loving citizen of India more

It's a welcome 'Start' by Railways. Passengers should take precaution during journey. All food packets should be sanitized before opening. Should not put hands/fingers in mouth/nose/ears before washing hands for 20 minutes. If this is maintained, no one has to scare. more

Local Circles platform, in my view, should be used only for giving suggestions for improving governance in any area. Of late I find only plain news being repeated here very often. This does not add any value. more
