Transaction Charges by Banks

1. Banks should not levy any transaction charge on Savings Bank accounts held by Senior Citizens and Divyang Jans (Persons with Disabilities)
Reason: Banks are paying only 4% interest on such accounts and are lending out funds at a much higher interest rates from 9 to 15%.
2. Banks should not limit free transactions on ATM of their own or other bank.
3. The Minimum Available Balance limit should be fixed at Rs.5000/- for Savings Bank accounts in all Banks including Private Banks.
4. To encourage cashless transactions all the banks should levy a minimum charge on Debit Card to cover the operational cost only.
5. Charges for electronic transfer of funds through NEFT/RTGS should cover the operational costs only.
6. RBI should issue a rate card on transaction charges to all banks whether public or private which should be binding on them. RBI rate card should be made available to Public through print media and on RBI website. more

Banks are prompt to levy "harge on Savings Bank accounts " BUT unable to do anything since last 65 years on "BAD DEBTS" of lacs of Crorers of Rupees. On the contrary eager to hide the defaulters till Supreme Court Ordered. More over the Name list provided to the Supreme Court was in "CLOSED sealed Cover" as if the defaulters are Bankers closed relatives. Recently the SBI chief also expressed her views that Loan relief to the farmers will affect the Banking Loan Set-up BUT conveniently forgotten that the "BAD DEBTS" given by the High Officials of the Banks are NOT without any wasted interest - well knowing that they are NOT followed the DUE procedure and favored to the fraudsters. Over and above securing the wasted interest by such personalities clearly indicate their OWN wasted interest. Thousands of farmers are galloping to death every year BUT there is NOT a single case that any of the Banker and it's High officials who had sanctioned such loan had ever made an attempt. "Clean India and Transforming India" is more required in these lines. "Economical Ganga" is more polluted than real "Ganga river. more
1. What crime we youngsters have done, on one side you are encouraging cash less economy and other side there are charges or limited numbers of transactions, now citizens are withdrawing all money at one go. 2. No need for bank, only one transaction per month. 3. Even I am planning to close my account if the banks continue with charges. more
Shri Modi Government is expected to do more for senior citizens: 1. Full exemption for bank transaction charges. 2. Removal of pension amount from taxable income. 3. Senior citizens should be exempted from tax payment. 4. Introduction of concessional fare for airtravel as given in Indian Railways. more
